Many of us today place great importance on the principles of home Feng Shui, hoping that the arrangement and layout of our living spaces can help transform our financial fortunes and overall luck.
If a home is cluttered and disorderly, the vital energy (sheng qi)—which fosters growth and prosperity—cannot enter; this will inevitably have a negative impact on the luck of the home’s inhabitants. However, if three specific areas of the home are kept clean and tidy year-round, it can provide a significant boost to the entire family’s financial luck. PART 1: The Entryway. The entryway serves as the very first impression of a modern home. If one steps inside to find a clean and tidy entryway—thereby adhering to the Feng Shui principle of “concealing the wind and gathering the qi“—it will stimulate the flow of positive energy, causing the overall fortune of the entire residence to flourish.
Conversely, excessive clutter or dim lighting in the entryway will block the entry of blessings and wealth, while simultaneously increasing the accumulation of stagnant, impure energy within the home. This can severely undermine the residents’ overall fortune—and their financial luck in particular.
PART 2: The Kitchen. In truth, the most potent hub of financial energy within a home is the kitchen. It is essential that the kitchen be kept clean and brightly lit, and that the stove be frequently used for cooking.
In Feng Shui theory, the kitchen is regarded as the family’s “Treasury”—the very place the God of Wealth loves to visit most. It serves not only as the source of sustenance for the family but also as the seat of their material abundance and livelihood.
If the kitchen remains uncleaned and untidy for an extended period, the God of Wealth will find there is nowhere to even “set foot.” Consequently, the deity will decline to visit your home, and over time, your financial luck will gradually slip away.
PART 3: The Bathroom. The bathroom is the area within the home where dampness and impure energy (hui qi) tend to concentrate most heavily. It is therefore imperative to maintain strict cleanliness and hygiene in this space, ensuring it is frequently ventilated to allow for the circulation of fresh air.
If the bathroom is allowed to become filthy and disorderly, the impure energy and dampness contained within it will inevitably seep into other areas of the home. This contaminates the entire living environment with stagnant energy, causing the family’s career prospects and financial fortunes to deteriorate, while also increasing the likelihood of health-related issues.
